Flashbacks, Nightmares and Triggers. How to Get Them Under Control. PTSD...

When I was little my father experimented on me every sexual fetish and deviance he could imagine.
Though he was polygamous and could make any grown woman swoon at his feet, he was too coward to show them his true self, and instead lived out his sick desires with a child.
In this video I share a recent trigger of a memory of one such deviance, what my reaction was, and what I did to respond and remedy my reaction.

Before I continue, I'd like to send my condolences to all those who have lost someone to #COVID19, and my prayers and wishes of strength to those who are #SocialDistancing and quarantined with an abuser. If you need help go to https://preciouslittleladies.org/gethelp for resources.

It is said that sexual abuse survivors experience PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) more severe than a man on the front lines of a battlefield in war. I have learned to manage PTSD with tried and true coping mechanisms to maintain my #MentalHealth, navigate everyday challenges and thrive in my life raising 4 children who are also my biological brothers and sisters.
That isn't to say I never have moments where it's more difficult to do so. Sometimes common life stressors, like bills and business management, can wear me down like it would anyone else. And I find myself more vulnerable to PTSD associated with the sexual trauma, incestuous abuse and domestic violence that I experienced for most of my life.
But because I have educated my self with coping techniques that I employ whenever necessary, my symptoms of PTSD that show themselves every now and again don't scare me.

Social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic can exasperate symptoms of PTSD. With limits on activities with friends and family to "distract", a survivor is left with more time in their thoughts and memories of trauma.
I hope that you as a viewer, survivor or friend or family of a survivor, can use the information and suggestions in this video help through the healing process during these trying times and in the future.

There are things no child should witness or experience. Yet, every day children all over the world are experiencing and witnessing things that would make an adult go insane.
Please LIKE and SHARE this video to help continue to raise awareness, support survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence, and help prevent others from being affected.

We are spiritual beings having a human experience, and though no two experiences are alike, there are patterns and similarities. I hope you or someone you know can benefit from my human experience. Be blessed for you are a blessing.
